Our business research is indicating that many of those UK engineering consultants that work with local Authority clients are either seeing or are expecting an increase in new commissions.
There is a strong feeling within the industry, that local authorities have been waiting to see the full effect of government spending cuts, before releasing funding on infrastructure projects which had previously been given the green light.
During this period many have seen deep cuts in their engineering teams; resulting in their having less capability to deliver projects in house.
