Civil Project Manager

Civil Project Manager – 2 Year Contract - Birmingham - Rail Signaling Sector

The Role:
Communicating with team members to ensure that they understand, and become engaged with, the project strategy, brief and client requirements
Developing and managing the Project Programme and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders
Ensuring that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification and forecasting as appropriate
Maintaining an overview of the commercial aspects of the project (contract, invoicing, debt, client management) 
Directing the assessment, selection and management of suppliers, sub-consultants and contractors associated with projects
Ensuring that completed engineering and documentation work is reviewed for technical, and client compliance

The Candidate:
Civil /Signalling engineering background within the UK Rail environment preferred
Experience in leading design in a consultant organisation and working in a tendered design services environment 
Extensive experience in a project environment with substantial project management experience
D&B experience needed
Good client management and communication skills essential
Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures and ability to take commercial responsibility for a project
Experience in preparing and managing Project schedules in either MS Project or Primavera P6
