Leading Consultancy requires 9x SC Cleared Civil/Structural Engineers – Major Nuclear Projects  - Glasgow

The Role:
The principal function is to undertake the design and management of heavy civil and structural engineering projects with particular focus on nuclear safety related structures. 
Provision of technical, design and management related inputs on nuclear, and other, structures together with the production of engineering design calculations using 2D/3D FE analysis and design software packages.
The role also involves liaising with the CAD team in respect of the production of CAD models using BIM appropriate software packages.
Interfacing with other team members on design related matters and mentoring of graduates
Liaising with client representatives, others disciplines and contractors working on the project
Carrying out site inspections and surveys, including knowledge of associated H&S requirement. 
Taking responsibility for the management of work tasks including reporting (technical and financial) to project manager.
Contributing, as required, to the preparation of bid submissions  

The Candidate:
You should have an in-depth knowledge of the design and detailing of structures especially in concrete and steel for both static and seismic load conditions.
An understanding of foundation design and the interaction of the structure with the underlying ground strata.
Experience in designing to Eurocodes, American codes and other appropriate design standards.
A good understanding of structural analysis using finite element techniques for both static and dynamic load conditions, for both steel and concrete structures, using linear and non-linear techniques.
An ability and willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Good commercial awareness with an understanding of contractual issues. BS Civil Engineering with Stormwater courses required. MS Civil Engineering is a plus
