Electrical / ICA Design Engineer – Permanent, Leading Consultancy, Cardiff

Role:
The main duties of an Electrical / ICA Design Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking design services relating to new and existing electrical or ICA infrastructure and operation on water and wastewater related schemes
Technical delivery of electrical and/or ICA design solutions
Ensuring deliverables meet required legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives
Interface and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA)
Establish relationships with clients and alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters
Act as buddy to other staff
Promote project achievements both internally and externally

Our client is involved in some of the UK’s most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding. They have an enviable reputation in the delivery of such schemes and are working closely with the Environment Agency and some of the UK’s most established and recognisable utilities companies, undertaking a vast array of projects to enhance the UK’s water and utility services. 

The Candidate:
Essential:
Relevant accredited engineering degree and/or Incorporated Engineer
Membership of appropriate professional institution (e.g., IET)
IEng/CEng or working towards achievement of IEng/CEng
Experience in technical delivery of clean and wastewater non-infra projects
(Electrical) – Experience in feasibility, specification, and design of MV/LV electrical distribution systems, MCCs, motorised plant, earthing systems
(ICA) - Experience in technical delivery of PLC, SCADA and telemetry systems and communication networks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player with collaborative behaviours
Self-motivated i.e. “Can –do” attitude 

Desirable:
CEng
Experience of working on a collaborative alliance framework
Detailed design experience
Experience of working on design and construct projects
