Estates Surveyor: Contract, Portsmouth, Duration, 6 months Rate: c£350.0, 37hrs
KEY SKILLS: Estate Management, Programme & Project Delivery, MRICS, BPSS


The Role:
To provide specialist guidance to operational teams in order to influence compliance with Agency policy, legislation and contribute to the delivery of business plans.
Keep up to date on changing legislation/best practice externally, to inform internal priorities and appropriate alignment.
In line with targets, contribute to the development of the Agency policy, process at national/local level and monitor & advise on effective implementation in the business.
Lead or participate in projects, providing functional & specialist input to improve ways of working and business change & efficiency.
Build and sustain effective relationships with operational customers to understand issues and provide effective response / steer for operational needs.
Mentor and coach others on policies, procedures, practices and techniques equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver their work in an effective and efficient manner.

Duties will involve:
As an Estates Surveyor, you will be responsible for;
Management of the military estate, the delivery of prioritised & agreed regional (UK and Overseas) work programmes & projects against the DIO Business Plan and to support Military Capability.
Comprehensive estate surveying, subject matter expert service to all areas of DIO business including accommodation and the Training Estate, in the UK and overseas, and external stakeholders.
Delivery of an allocated programme of LMS (estate surveying) services and advice to include:
Landlord & Tenant - lease management, granting & acquisition of leases, lease renewals, rent reviews, occasional use licences; valuations; wayleaves;
easements; damage claims; bylaws;
Town & Country Planning advice; estate rationalisation; minor disposals; and any other ad hoc land management issues as required

The Candidate:
You will have:
MRICS or relevant land management degree
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
BPSS with Basic Disclosure (issued by Disclosure & Barring Service or Disclosure Scotland).
