Overview;
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working alongside Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Facilities Layout Manager to work in Plymouth initially for a period of 6months+.
10 Dock is a major infrastructure upgrade and modernisation programme within Devonport Royal Dockyard seeking to design and build major new facilities over the next 5 years to support the Ministry of Defence. The infrastructure programme is current finalising the concept design and seeking to mobilise further resources to support the scheme and detailed design phase as well as commencing onsite physical enabling works to support the longer term construction contract.

Co-ordinate the system designs into an overall Facility Layout to enable demonstration of functional capability.
Organise and record regular Layout Reviews with Design Leads, UAG, XUAG and Design Houses to ensure development of the design of a capable efficient facility.
Develop and Implement Layout System Requirements process as part of a Systems Engineering to enable demonstration of Requirements compliance.
Develop Facility Layouts for Production plant and equipment, fixed Facility equipment, waste management, mechanical handling, external barriers, pedestrian and vehicle routeing.
Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements, by operating Facility Layout design through compliance with Babcock’s Business Management System and MIP Design & Safety Manual.
Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
Ensure that staff and contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks (Health, Safety & Environmental) associated with the work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.
Ensure that Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) BIM Standards are applied to the Project, and following the Delivery Team BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
Provide Building Information Modelling (BIM) authoring support to the project, using the appropriate technology as prescribes in the Delivery Team BEP.


Candidate:
Have a minimum of 5 years in the Design and Construction of Facilities Engineering
The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the process of BIM throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
Knowledge of BIM level 2 suite, but also new emerging standards ISO 19650
BIM naming conventions, status codes and revisions. But also object naming standards BS 8541:
Awareness of COBIe, IFC and Uniclass.
Using a Common Data Environment (CDE) to follow the ISO 19650 method of collaboration.
Competent user with a good understanding of the following platforms; Revit, Naviswork, AutoCAD, Inventor, Civils 3D. Must be able to create content in these platforms for the purposes of the project.
Have a sound understanding of construction design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline e.g. Civil Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar.
Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council, or working towards.
