CAD Technician / Designer – £ATTRACTIVE, Plymouth, Long Term, Fixed Term Contract

The Role:
Experienced CAD Technician / Designer required to join a team engaged on prestigious international Maritime Defence projects.  
Working within the Mechanical Design team you will be responsible for the preparation / production of component drawings / detailed manufacturing drawings of test rigs, 2D packages working on drawings for manufacture, assemble and installation of mechanical systems, all of which will cover a number of international projects. 

Duties will include: 
AutoCAD Working Drawings. (2D or 3D)
Compartment layouts, General Schematics, Detail Arrangement Drawings, Main & Auxiliary Machinery Space, Control Room, Chilled Water Plants, Static Converters – Submarine / Surface Ships.
Site visits to Submarines/Ships to assess/verify design proposals – validating drawings or technical specifications.
Production of breakouts from Guidance Information (GI). 

The Candidate: 
You will be an experienced and qualified CAD Technician / Designer (Components) with 5 years’ experience and be qualified to ONC/HNC level in a Mechanical or Production engineering. 
Experience in AutoCAD is essential.
You will have experience of Manufacturing drawings, Bespoke Machinery & Mechanical systems.
CADDS 5, 3D, EDM (Engineering Database Manager) & GUI (Graphical User Interface) working would be advantageous.

Who will this suit? 
This role is ideally suited to a CAD Technician / Designer with 5years experience gained producing Mechanical Component / General Mechanical drawings / Drawings for Manufacture / bespoke rigs. Ideal way for contractors to gain experience within the Defence sector.
