Principal Environmental Consultant:  to join an established practice in London

The Role:
Principal Environmental Consultant to play a key role and be responsible in the delivery and managing of small/medium scale projects and bids as well as working as part of wider project teams managing desk studies and site surveys, delivering technical reports, and attending client meetings

Duties include:
Managing selected projects or parts of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications.
Managing commercial aspects (contract, invoicing, debt, client management etc) of projects to ensure a successful result.
Liaising with the Project Director and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project.
Working independently and expanding our services to an established local client base and taking responsibility for building up the business and developing a team with support from the wider environment business as appropriate.
Preparing proposals to secure work as well as initiating and implementing marketing activities.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Environmental Consultant, degree qualified and charted status or equivalent.
You will have experience of undertaking environmental assessments on a variety of projects such as renewable energy, transportation, rail, water and land development schemes.
Experience of co-ordinating and managing EIAs and SEAs including the preparation of Scoping Reports, option/feasibility studies, preparing assessment chapters.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of EIA processes and relevant UK legislation is essential, as is a good understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines. An understanding of a variety of project consent routes, including TWA, DCO, TCPA, is essential. 
Experience will also include project management responsibilities, including commercial and risk aspects, allowing the successful candidate to take on and manage projects with minimum supervision.
You will be familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H&S regulations

The client’s Environmental practice comprises over 250 staff that is working on some of the largest civil engineering infrastructure, urban regeneration and transport projects in the UK.
