Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Magnox in order to recruit a Nuclear Project Engineer to work on an 18 month contract WFH / Dungeness.
As a Nuclear Project Engineer your duties / responsibilities will include:
Core Duties associated with this role:

x14 VESSELLS CONTAINING NUCLEAR WASTE TO BE REMOVED AND
CONTAINED
(CONTRACTOR ENGAGED TO DEVELOP MECHANISM TO
RETRIEVE / DISPOSE)

2ND PART OF PROJECT IS THE DISPOSABILITY OF SAID WASTE

The candidate should ideally have experience of Waste projects and the nuclear industry or industry that is heavily regulated. Mechanical and electrical / instrumentation multi-discipline preferred but not essential depending upon experience.

There will be occasion to visit a sub-contractors works / site attendance on an ad-hoc basis but majority of this role (~75% can be conducted remotely)

Would be useful if candidate had experience of Waste projects but not essential.

Request is for Project Engineer but a Senior Project Engineer would be equally useful Please state if applying as SPE and why - elevation of rate applicable for Senior role

Essential Qualifications and experience:

Appropriate HNC, degree or National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 5/6
Experience in a practising disciplined Engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, C & I or Civil) on industrial plant.
Experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering

Desirable

Membership of a relevant Engineering Institute
Chartered Status.
Understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards.
Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and working knowledge of risk assessment methodology.
Understanding of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements.
Working knowledge of CDM Designer role
Contract Management experience
Project delivery experience

Nuclear engineers research nuclear energy and radiation processes to develop systems and equipment (e.g. medical devices). Nuclear engineers develop nuclear technology and applications of radiation. They research ways of utilizing nuclear power and design new systems and products (e.g. radiation cores). They also monitor operations in power plants and follow safety standards. To provide fit for purpose engineering solutions for complex projects. To ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately.
