Project Engineer (water/environment)

6 month contract for a Project Engineer to work with Environment Agency related flood maintenance projects where you will be coordinating repair works.

The Role:
Delivering flood defence asset improvements across the Environment Agency’s Wessex Area. You'll work closely with the area team staff to ensure and support delivery of Environment Agency capital, revenue and Somerset River Authority programmes. You’ll be required to manage project budgets and utilise Environment Agency frameworks to deliver these programmes. Mentor and coach others on policies, procedures, practices and techniques equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver their work in an effective and efficient manner.

The Candidate:
Educated to degree level or equivalent from an environmental or engineering background.
You will be working with communities to create new assets and recondition and maintain existing assets. You'll be responsible for the oversight and project management of a variety of asset improvement tasks.
You'll need excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build rapport to influence a range of landowners, contractors, utility companies, councils other public bodies.
You'll also have a full driving licence plus good IT and organisational skills.
