The Role:
Senior Highways Engineer required for Halton Borough Council to prepare and implement highway traffic and transportation schemes and programmes of work. You will be responsible for the assessment and evaluation of highway design and construction proposals to be implemented by developers.

The Candidate:
You will be a Senior Highways Engineer with experience working within local authority.
You will have a Degree/HNC in engineering or transportation discipline.
You should have previous experience working with developers/contractors, presenting highways information to various audiences and representing the council in a range of settings.
Experience of successful delivery of highway adoption programmes, from pre-design through to construction and sign-off is required.
You will have knowledge and understanding of highway, traffic and/or planning law and of relevant legislation, technical specifications, standards and codes of practice and ongoing developments relevant to the post (section 38).
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
