The Danish wind power Company: Dong Energy has announced that it is to construct the world’s largest wind farm, Hornsea Project One, off the Yorkshire coast.
It has been reported that the project which is expected to cost in the region of £3bn; will create an estimated 2000 jobs whilst in the construction phase and an estimated 300 engineering/technical biased jobs when it is up and running.
With large numbers of engineering jobs having recently been lost in the offshore sector; due to project cancellations, as a result of the fall in oil price, this announcement by Dong Energy is a great boost.
