In addition there is a large amount of Tier 2 technical support being procured through BaTS which requires technical contract management (supply of docs & drawings and review of output). Significant experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering. Detailed understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards. Working knowledge of the Safety Rules and working knowledge of risk assessment methodology. Detailed knowledge of relevant Site Licence and Quality Management System requirements. Senior CE & I Designer; HOME WORK & WHITEHAVEN c 12 months plus contract - £34.0/hour (umbrella) Key Skills: CE & I design, AutoCAD, Nuclear. The role: Sellafield Limited are seeking a CE&I Senior Designer to provide design support for the Lead Engineers to support plant maintenance and improvement projects. You will work on multiple projects producing designs and drawings in AutoCAD. This will include the design to electrical power, lighting, process instrumentation and control systems. Producing CE&I installation design packages including OIMSs, CDM, Risk Assessments and installation drawings: BCDs, schematics, hook-ups and layouts / GAs. The Candidate: You will be an experienced CE&I designer with ideally with some Nuclear sector experience on legacy, new and operational nuclear installations and with experience in the design of electrical power, lighting, process instrumentation and control systems. You will be qualified to BTEC – HNC or HND Electrical / Electronic Engineering. In addition, you will have: Experience of producing CE&I installation design packages including OIMSs, CDM Risk Assessments and installation drawings: BCDs, schematics, hook-ups and layouts / GAs. Experience of producing instrument data sheets. Evidence of having a working knowledge of CE&I Standards. Overview: Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working with a major Defence client in Plymouth in order to recruit 3 Design Engineers initially on 12month contracts. As a Design Engineer (Marine Structures) your duties and responsibilities will include: Marine Structures engineers are responsible for: the design and substantiation of Category A and B seatings and foundations to meet military and commercial requirements; determination of scantlings to classification societies’ rules and regulations; the development of the associated scantlings plans; and dockyard support e.g. lifting and turning of plant/equipment/build units and structural repairs. Marine Structures engineers are involved in all phases of the design lifecycle producing technical reports, substantiation calculations and providing technical support as required. The role requires; demonstrable experience in marine structures on vessels/marine platforms, demonstrable experience of using classification societies’ rules and regulations and national and international standards, demonstrable experience in using design packages e.g. Finite Element (FEA) Analysis and 2D & 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD). Experience working with and within engineering teams as well as good written and verbal communication skills. Key Result Area: Primary deliverables are technical reports and substantiation calculations for installation solutions, repairs/conversions to existing vessels and in support of concept designs; Preparation and production of technical reports and substantiation calculations for solutions covering the entire design lifecycle phases (Concept, Basic, Functional, Detail, Manufacturing, Installation and Decommissioning), in line with recognised standards and to the required: time, cost and quality requirements; Liaise with design teams, production teams, classification society representatives and other stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle to ensure coordination and functionality of design, including supporting design reviews; Develop innovative design solutions; Provide solutions to manufacturing and installation issues by assisting in the resolution of technical and production queries; Produce technical reports and other documentation; Be aware of and ensure that, health, safety and environmental requirements are implemented; Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quantity standards of outputs. Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences The Marine Structures engineer is required to demonstrate proven experience in the naval/marine industry with Defence related design experience being an advantage. Candidate: You will be an experienced Design Engineer You should be qualified to at least HNC / HND level. You should have at least 5 years exp in a similar role.
