Temporary Works Coordinator - Plymouth - 6months - Rate £25-£40/hr Ltd Co Keywords/Skills: Marine, MOD, Naval, Marine, Works Coordinator Overview / Duties; Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working alongside Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Temporary Works Coordinator to work initially on contract for 6 months+ based at Devonport Plymouth. As a Temporary Works Coordinator your responsibilities and duties will include; Primary Purpose Client and Principal Contractor appointed Temporary Works Co-ordinator responsible for ensuring the management and control of Client and Contractor temporary works are compliant with the Babcock Temporary Works Procedure, which includes the requirement for all temporary works designs to be prepared checked and implemented in accordance with the relevant standards, drawings and specifications. In addition, to ensure that all temporary works interfaces are identified, communicated, co-ordinated and all appropriate stakeholders are consulted. Principal Tasks and Responsibilities Co-ordination of all temporary works associated with the 10 Dock enabling works including the interfaces between contractors temporary works Establish and maintain the overarching Project Temporary Works Register supported by contractors temporary works registers where appropriate Key contact for all temporary works issues on the project including liaison with temporary and permanent works designers, contractor TWC’s, members of the project team and all stakeholders e.g. Technical Authority, Principal Designer, etc Implementation of the Babcock Temporary Works Procedure ensuring that all temporary works, including that of contractors, complies Maintain the filing of temporary works records as appropriate Ensure all the relevant procedures, inspections and checks are carried out Carry out inspections of installed temporary works and issue or countersign Permit to Load prior to use and Permit to Dismantle upon completion Review all temporary works designs for acceptance with support from members of the project team and Designated Individual Participate in the look ahead meetings with the project team to identify upcoming temporary works and discuss/resolve issues with respect to temporary works Ensure that loadings from temporary works which may affect the permanent works are accepted by the permanent works designers. Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are approved and communicated to other members of the Babcock site team Ensure that detailed Trade Contractor procedures for the control of temporary works are produced and implemented through their own TWC. Identification, assessment and appointment of Temporary Works Supervisors where required. Candidate: You will be a Temporary Works Coordinator. You will be qualified to at least HNC level. Principal Engineer External Works Civil– 6months + Contract – c£30-£50/hour Ltd – Plymouth KEY Skills: External Works, Review/Approval of Scopes of Work, Design Concepts The Role: Principal Engineer - External Works Civils required to join the client’s team (Babcock Naval Marine) who are engaged on a major infrastructure upgrade and modernization programme at Plymouth to No 10 dock, within the Devonport Royal Dockyard. The program includes the design and build of major new facilities in support of the MoD (the Ministry of Defence). The infrastructure programme is currently finalizing the concept design and is now seeking to mobilise further resources to support the scheme and detailed design phase as well as commencing onsite physical enabling works to support the longer-term construction contract. As the Principal Engineer External Works; you will be responsible for delivery of a wide range external works elements Including: Facility Boundary (security fence), Facility Entry & Exit points, Facility Roadways, Pavements/Walkways, Facility Lay-apart / Laydown areas, Pedestrian Barriers , Vehicle Impact barriers, Demountable Flood Barriers, Dockside Ancillaries, Drainage - Foul Water , Drainage - Surface Water , Ducts (for cables, small pipes), Trenches (cables, large pipes) etc. Principal Tasks and Responsibilities You will be responsible for developing the overall 10 Dock External Works strategies for Design and Procurement and Capability demonstration Review/approval of the scope and System Requirements to define the separate sub-systems required Review/Approval of Scopes of Work (SoW) for Design House (DH) input to design and deliverables Approve interface management process for External Works interfacing with other 10 Dock systems and adjacent Dockyard systems to ensure scope boundary is agreed Ensure communication and liaison with the other Design Leads, other Design Houses, UAG/XUAG, Technical Authority and other stakeholders is appropriate Review/approve articulation of how the external works design packages will deliver the capability functions. Capture of the design concepts within an overall Facility layout by interfacing with the discipline leads and users. Ensure coordination of the operational aspects of the system designs into an overall facility operational concept to demonstrate functional capability. Plan for effective project implementation ensuring compliance with all relevant company/project arrangements, including for example BIM. Candidate You will have a degree in an appropriate engineering discipline e.g. Civil Engineering or equivalent. Ideally be a Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council. The following is also desirable; • NUC0793 Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1. • NUC0794 Nuclear Fundamentals (Foundation) Course Module 2. • NUC0911 Introduction to Safety Engineering (ITSE).
