Assistant Project Manager - Bristol - Duration 9 months - Rate c£50/hr Umbrella

Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side DEFRA in order to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to work on a 9 month contract at Bristol.
As an Assistant Project Manager your responsibilities and duties will include:
PM who has experience of flood forecasting and modelling to deliver 2 separate programmes:
1. Develop, procure and roll out new mapping & modelling framework for start April 2022
2. To discover and develop new flood forecasting methods and tools. To deliver full review and performance assessment of the Flood Forecasting Models used in the provision of the flood forecasting service. To move to main stage delivery of improved flood forecasting models.

Assist in the management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included. Operate as a full member of the team; supporting the Project Manager and other team members as directed Assist in the completion of the high level plan through to Go Live and BAU handover.

o Develop, procure and roll out new mapping & modelling framework for start April 2022 – this is focused not on modelling but on setting up a contract framework for the mapping and modelling framework – so contract management skills would be useful.
o To discover and develop new flood forecasting methods and tools. To deliver a full review and performance assessment of the Flood Forecasting Models used in the provision of the flood forecasting service. To move to main stage delivery of improved flood forecasting models. – this would benefit from someone with flood modelling experience – not necessarily writing the model but having enough knowledge to know what works and what doesn’t and how things can be improved.

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Project Manager.
5-10 years experience.
HNC / HND / Degree.
