Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a BOM Engineer (Bills of Materials Engineer) to work on a 12 month contract, WFH / Rosyth.
As a BOM Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include;
Role Profile – Mechanical Engineer – Planning Bill Of Materials

Main Purpose

This role will support production of BOM of Materials for the T31 ship build project.
The candidate requires good understanding of shipbuilding practices and typical construction and outfit sequencing.
The candidate has to be highly IT literate, experience of ERP systems integration with CAD is an advantage.
Knowledge of hexagon E3D and IFS is beneficial.

The role requires a degree in Engineering or Design (HND or above), experience of detail design of ships, ideally for royal navy. Ability to work collaboratively with many stakeholders. Good appreciation for a variety of systems and equipment found on the ships.

Key Result Areas:

• Coordination of work between disciplines, adjustment to plans to suit project priorities.
• Liaising with production.
• Liaising with other disciplines: electrical, transversals, structural, outfit, etc.
• Management of S3D bom outputs.
• Liaison with detail planning on sequencing of activities.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill;

• The post holder is required to hold an HND or an equivalent qualification in an Engineering / Naval Architecture.

• Experience of working in the design environment.
• Good knowledge of shipbuilding practices.
• IT literate.
• Understanding of project planning techniques.
• Ability to interprite P6 plans and schedules.
