Opportunity for a Bridge Design Engineer working with our clients Highways and Rail Projects team based in Leicester. Key Skills: Bridge Design, Euro Codes, DMRB Bridge Design Standards

The Role:
You will be assisting a principal engineer with setting and reviewing objectives, targets and performance of a small team. You will develop relationships with key customers, suppliers and contacts relevant to team, and providing professional advice and support across the business. You will have to manage small projects and quality constraints and standards, and assist the principal engineer team leader in Management of the larger projects, estimating, pricing and delivering against work targets.

The Candidate:
You must have proven experience within this field, understand an operation of management systems for quality, financial and project controls. 
There are specific requirements to this role which are; you should be able to demonstrate recent experience, knowledge and understandings of current DMRB Bridge design standards and highways agency approval and certification procedures. Experience of the use of Euro codes for the bridge design would be an advantage but not essential. Although not essential but having experience of Network Rail standards is useful; you must also have experience at working as part of an interrogated design team. You must have the ability to develop and innovate a cost effective solution to the design of bridge structures including buildability and alternative construction methods.

You must be Degree qualified with an appropriate professional qualification or approaching professional qualifications and over 4 years post graduate Industry experience. Also it is essential that you have proven experience within this role. You must have a full understanding of bridge design software packages and proficient in their use. You must have understanding and operation of management systems for quality, financial and project controls. Experience of BIM techniques would be useful but not essential and also good communication skills is a must both written and spoken.
