Bridge Maintenance Engineer; 6-month+ Contract; Nottingham; c£325 per day

The Role:
Excellent opportunity for a Bridge Maintenance Engineer to review the maintenance of assets for East Midlands motorway and trunk road structures and develop solutions to ensure that they are maintained adequately.
Asset management activities expected to be carried out include: 
Reviewing inspection data Updating and analysing data from the asset databases Determining future needs 
Undertaking inspection and testing of the asset either directly or by procuring technical surveys. Prioritising and promoting needs Identifying appropriate solutions and packaging these up to permit design. 
Review and comment upon third party and Major Project scheme development/delivery and handover. 
Planning of Structure Inspections. 
Planning of Routine Maintenance Works. 
Helping with the management of structures currently being monitored.

The Candidate:
Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and the Specification for Highway Works. Experience of highway structure inspections Experience with contract documents.
Good understanding of the CDM Regulations appropriate to highway maintenance works. 
CSCS Accreditation
Working towards being qualified or qualified as a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers at IEng or CEng level. 
Qualified or working towards Bridge Inspector certification in accordance with IAN192/16 beneficial. 
Some experience of AutoCAD. 
Good communication skills verbally and in writing. 
Awareness or use of HE SMIS database an advantage.
