Summary:
Our client Magnox at Hinkley A require a Civil Site Engineer to work on a long-term contract based on site in Somerset. The duration of this contract is expected to be over 12 months.

The Role:
The Civil Site Engineer is accountable to the Site Construction Manager for ensuring contractors employed on the MAGNOX decommissioning project execute works in a safe and timely manner.
You will be responsible for reviewing and accepting method statements, safe systems of work and all relevant documentation.
Responsible for delivering safe management of contractors, discharging the role of the CDM Principal Contractor (when appropriate).
Carry out regular formal inspections of assigned contractor’s work, record findings and place actions to correct where deficiencies are noted.
Carry out a regular review of all contractor safety documentation, ensuring that the control measures remain suitable, sufficient and relevant to the work being done.
Manage and control site work to ensure that projects are delivered safely in compliance with MAGNOX standards, S-722 Safe Management of Contractors, S-424 CDM Arrangements, S-481-484 Contractor Site Instructions (CONSIs) and the site-specific interface document, and their impact on contractors.
Carry out regular inspection on assigned contractors to ensure compliance with the relevant CONSIs (Contractor Site Instructions), for their work.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Civil Site Engineer with at least 5 - 10 years experience within the nuclear sector.
You will be qualified to at least HNC / HND or degree level.
You will have experience of delivering projects in a highly regulated industry.
NEBOSH - experience of health and safety legislation or CITB site management training.
Thorough knowledge of CDM regulations .
Understanding of NEC3 forms of contract
