Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side the MHCLG in order to resource a Commercial Manager to work on a 12 month contract London/WFH.
As a Commercial Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:

The successful candidate should have strong Commercial or Contract Management experience, with a recognised Contract Management qualification being particularly advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to obtain professional and on-the-job skills and develop their career in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in key projects and support delivery of important contractual and spend activities across the Building Remediation and Grenfell directorate working with dedicated contract managers, and stakeholders at all levels. The work will be varied and include contract performance management, data management, supporting large complex procurements and running smaller, niche procurements, driving saving initiatives, ‘triaging’ requirements for subsequent delivery by CCS and Contract Administration and change management.

You will also play a key role in helping MHCLG to improve its commercial and contract management performance and capability.

Key Responsibilities
Engage with Policy Teams to ensure identification of priority, high risk, high value Contracts and Supplier Relationships. Subsequently ensuring completion of robust contract classification aligned to GCO frameworks;

Lead or support teams as required in the implementation and embedding of robust Contract Management, aligned to the GCO Contract Management framework;

Deliver and embed Contract Management processes, procedures and training, in line with the Government Commercial Organisation (GCO) Standards;

Acting as strategic advisory support to policy teams, to support the management of complex contract, value delivery and continuous improvement;

Act as an assessor of business-critical contracts to ensure compliance, mitigate risk and maximise value.

Essential criteria:
Strong experience of contract management and supplier relationship management principles and/or the ability to develop good influencing skills
Good knowledge of Public Contracts Regulations or willingness to gain experience and qualifications when in role
Working knowledge of standard contracts such as NEC and JCT forms of contract
Experience of effectively supporting projects demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise and effectively plan work
Good IT skills, including competent in use of Microsoft Excel and must have ability to interrogate and present data
Understanding of ‘Purchase to Pay’ processes
Good analytical skills (to assess value for money, savings opportunities and commercial risk)
Ability to establish good working relationships with staff at all levels.

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Commercial Manager.
NEC & JCT experience essential.
Public sector experience.
