Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Magnox in order to recruit a Commissioning Engineer to work on a 12 month contract in Dorset.
As a Commissioning Consultant / Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include:
OVERVIEW OF REQUIREMENT

Mechanical engineer - Qualified (BSc / Beng) & experienced
Decommissioning & Commissioning Knowledge & Experience esp. of steam powered plant / boiler refurbishment
Exposure to Robotics / Remote Controlled plant advantageous
Project Management / People Management or Consulting exp.
The design phase of this project is Complete
You will manage a multi-disciplinary team and report to Engineering Manager
This is a UK First Project
Chartered Status Desirable

Key Deliverables:

The specific purpose of this role is to provide mechanical engineering support to the SGHWR
Decommissioning Project. Main responsibilities include:
To act as the main engineering lead for large decommissioning projects to deliver engineering
work to meet project objectives and within project timescales and budgets.
To support the development of technical strategies, approaches and methodologies to deliver
Decommissioning Projects. This includes providing senior mechanical engineering support and
advice, and managing technical interfaces between and within project areas.
To act as the technical lead to manage and oversee specific areas of design, manufacture,
procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of plant and equipment in support of
SGHWR Decommissioning.
To act as the Commissioning Lead to manage and coordinate all testing, setting to work, and
commissioning works in support of SGHWR Decommissioning.
To provide general mechanical engineering advice and support to other areas of the SGHWR
Decommissioning Project and/or other Magnox projects.

Qualifications & Experience
PROVEN Solid Experience within a Senior PE / PM capacity
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (NQF level 6); preferably membership of a relevant
Engineering Institution and Chartered Status; preferably a qualification in project management
(APM or NVQ level 4).
Significant experience in a practicing Senior Mechanical Engineering role on nuclear and/or conventional industrial plant in a highly regulated environment;
Detailed understanding and working knowledge of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards; technical, health, safety and environmental legislation; Nuclear Site
Licence conditions, and quality management.
People management experience and knowledge of contract management is preferred

FURTHER INFORMATION:
The building is a post war Steam Generating Plant
Design stage of the project is complete
Now installing and commissioning robotic plant to carry out decommissioning – cutting up and extracting materials etc. all remote controlled.
This is a novel project for the UK and involves significant technical challenges
The installation and commissioning phase will last 1-2 year due for completion mid 2023 then commence decommissioning of facility – scope for ASW to move into operational position either as permanent staff or by way of extension to contract agreement.
