The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit a Construction Site Manager to work on a fixed term basis in the Middle East, working on a large fuel storage depot.
Your duties will include:
Recognise at all times, without exception, site safety for all personnel is an absolute requirement.
Ensure all operatives receive the SEE and client site inductions prior to first starting work.
Review, approve / reject, as appropriate, all risk assessments and method statements well before the work is carried out.
Permit to work requirements.
Carry out formal, weekly site and equipment inspections and maintain records of these inspections on site.
Ensure the construction H&S plan required under CDM is kept up to date.
Cooperate and liaise with the SEE Principal Designer to enable all legal requirements under CDM .
Adequate PPE and safety equipment.
Regular toolbox refresher talks.
Scrutinise and maintain on site copies of appropriate training certification.
Ensure the required COSHH assessments are carried out.
Ensure strict control and integrity of construction site perimeter.
Maintain overall project schedule.
Coordinate multi-contractor activity to prevent hold up.
Liaise closely with head office for all aspects of progress, safety, technical and commercial issues.
Close liaison with Site Operations.
Maintain project daily log.
All contractors and personnel numbers on site.
All necessary safety equipment records.
Record of inductions and renewal dates.
Safety issues:
Near miss logs and reports.
Accident logs and reports.
Ensure all safety notices and legislative compliance notices are clearly displayed.
Understand individual contractual nuances.
Pre-empt potential for contractual scenarios developing.
Manage change of contract scope.

The Candidate:
LARGE FUEL STORAGE DEPOT EXP - ESSENTIAL
You will be qualified to degree level – Engineering, Project Management, Construction with 10 years relevant construction site management experience, or, HNC qualified (or equivalent) with 15 years relevant construction site management experience.
You will be able to comply with security assessment requirements.
Experienced / familiar with the construction (design and management) regulations (CDM 2015).
Ability to interpret engineering construction drawings and to explain technical details / requirements to operatives.
Capable of workshop fabrication, welding technology and inspection.
 Knowledge of requirements relating to confined space entry.
You will have a Contractor Safety Passport.
You must have a Clean UK Driving Licence with full insurance cover for business use.
Excellent and solid technical skills using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
