Contracts Engineer : 36month contract, rate £neg

The role is for the Palace of Westminster Restoration & Renewal Programme.

Duties will include:
As a Contracts Engineer you will need to demonstrate the following:
Support the Project Manager in relation to the implementation of a contract management program for the project consistent with contracts management policies and work processes, procedures and systems.
Check commercial and contract issues are dealt with at the lowest level cognisant with the delegated authorities.
Contract management, estimating; preparation of method statements/risk assessments and site supervision to contracts.
Analyse the full contract including conditions, scope and other works information to identify requirements and deliverables and to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of work.
Check that the requirements of good corporate governance are understood by members of the project management team and taking early actions to correct any deviation from good governance practices.
Ensure standards are complied with through the delivery of projects
Ensure any changes to contracts are agreed, priced and formalised

The Candidate:
Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or Cost Engineering, or equivalent experience desirable.
Extensive knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts, with operational implementation and daily consultant and contractor management.
Thorough knowledge of contract administration as appropriate to a multidiscipline major UK construction project.

Your Experience will ideally Include:
An understanding and experience of programming and conditions of contract (NEC, ICE etc).
Detailed knowledge of construction methods and technology.
Supervision of subcontractors.
Experience of running high profile projects.
Analytical and time management skills.
Ability to plan and programme construction projects.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Effective IT skills
Familiar with current safety and environmental legislation.
