Cost Engineer - Barrow in Furness - 12months - £400-500/day - Contract

The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit a number of Cost Engineers to work on a 12 month contract based at Barrow in Furness.
Your duties may include:
Cost Management support deployed into the submarines and Build programmes working closely with the Program and Production Controls team.  
To develop and implement business priority solutions address business priority actions. 
Act as key interface between the Program Controls Team (PCT) and The Programs (Astute/Dreadnought) and Build Delivery. 
Cost Management and planning support for the development, implementation, execution, updating and monitoring of the cost plan.  
Responsible for Estimate at Completion Forecasts and Earned Value Management process. 
Have knowledge of and be able to advise on Single Source Regulations (SSRO), single source defence contracts and Defined Pricing Structure. 
Cost Management support to Control Account Managers (CAMS); Reviewing and notifying of any control account authorization changes. 
Work also includes developing, measuring and implementing corrective action for variances. Submitting budget change notices. 
Carry out Cost Value Reconciliation against the expenditure and budgets of the program.  
Directly involved in the identification, quantification and tracking of Trends. Mitigate the trend when possible, minimising the impact upon quality, schedule and cost.  
Design and Deliver to Cost – Advise the work package team, on the cost implications of their design and delivery proposals, with the sole purpose of achieving the cost target.  
Material Audit 

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Cost Engineer with at least 5-10 years experience.
Due to the nature of the work - you MUST be a British National with current security clearance.
You will have excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
You will be computer literate.
You should also have excellent people skills.
