Cost Engineer: Contract, Newbury, Duration: 12-months Rate: £25-30 per hour

The Role:
To perform and excel as a Cost Engineer for a well-known consultancy with vast experience in the nuclear industry.

Duties will involve:
As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible and accountable for;
Liaison with project team members to obtain and challenge cost related aspects of project, collating, monitoring, analysis and reporting of all cost related aspects for projects
Maintaining close working relationships with key team members, such as with the commercial manager to ensure that change control is factored into the project forecasts, the project planner to ensure integration of cost and planning and the finance department to regularly collate and submit accruals
Maintaining a monthly forecast and Environmental Audit Committee report to provide any understanding of ongoing change
Maintenance of project control structures (i.e. Work Breakdown Structure/Cost Breakdown Structure)

The Candidate:
You will have 3-5 years’ proven experience within a cost role within the nuclear or similar industry and ideally have a relevant degree qualification.
Strong knowledge of project controls in a major projects environment
NEC3 and/or similar knowledge/awareness
Excellent communications ability
Good general computer literacy with strong MS Excel skills
SC Clearance

In addition, you will also demonstrate the following;
Highly motivated and passionate about delivering projects to time, budget and quality
Organised and methodical with particular attention to detail
The ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure
Have a pragmatic approach and possess strong problem-solving techniques
Be commercially aware
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships at all levels with clients and employees alike and across all professional disciplines
Able to manage client expectations
