The Role:
Our client, Babcock Marine helps ensure the sustainability of future submarine support within the Royal Navy. Services provided include in-service support to the entire Navy submarine flotilla, deciding what engineering work the submarines require when they undergo their scheduled maintenance and works to expand the current pool of expertise in this specialist and sensitive area. 
The Deputy Project Manager will act on behalf of the DSPM Contract Manager performing a role as part of the project leadership team.
Responsibilities are inextricably linked to the success of the project as the Project Manager’s representative across the business. 
The role spans across all elements of project management therefore requires multi-discipline knowledge of commercial and technical requirements throughout the project’s lifecycle.
 
Duties will involve:
The role involves a combination defined tasks, alongside generalised ad-hoc management activities. 
The core tasks include but are not limited to: 
Provide direction and support to wider project control team 
Manage and track sub-contractor Purchase Orders 
Drive, track and control contract changes with the delivery teams 
Track, update, analyse and report KPI performance 
Ensure Forecast of Outturn is completed and provided in a timely manner 
Produce performance dashboards using Power BI for overall project, subcontractors and customer report
Collate monthly financial accruals to support billing.
 
The Candidate: 
It is desirable, but not essential that candidates have previous experience of Primavera (P6) and Power BI (training will be provided if necessary).
Prior experience and knowledge in the delivery of In-service Submarine Support is strongly preferred.
Candidates MUST have active SC, due to the sensitivity of the work involved, and the requirement to commence work ASAP.
Additionally, you should;
Be capable of working professionally and objectively with minimal direction. 
Have notable experience of project management methodologies and working as part of a team. 
Have experience in finance and commercial aspects of projects. 
Be proficient in the use of appropriate Project Management & IT tools (especially MS Word, MS Excel).
