Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Design Manager to work on a LONG term contract.
As a Design Manager duties and responsibilities will include:
The primary purpose of the 10 Dock Facility Integration Design Manager post is to work as the head of the 10 Dock Facility Design Team is:
To provide technical and managerial oversight of SQEP resource in the Integration Team for development of the 10 Dock Facility Design, such design to be suitable to be constructed to cost, schedule and meet an agreed set of technical requirements.
To manage the production of the over-arching Facility strategies for;
Environment.
Traffic/Transport.
Pedestrians.
Fire.
Security.
Emergency Response Services.
The technical integration and co-ordination of the Facility System Design work packages, including development of the necessary tools and techniques (noting that Design Houses and Design Leads will be supporting this integration/coordination activity).
The Facility Layout Development and substantiation against requirements.
Te HSE/CDM aspects of Facility Layout and wider system designs.

The 10 Dock Facility Integration Design Manager post operates as part of the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit.


Support the 10 Dock Design & Safety Manager on developing and implementing the project approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues as applicable to design.
Lead the integration of Nuclear Safety into design from Major Nuclear Safety Campaigns.
Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget.
Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project’s technical planning process.
To ensure and approve project design and safety approach and implementation is compatible with Design and Safety Policy/Standards including BIM, based on a sound understanding of business/project arrangements.
Support the 10 Dock Design & Safety Manager in discharge of Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM2015 where appointed by the Chief Engineer.
Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.

Industry legislation.
Industry Codes and Standards.
Design Engineering Practices.
Design Management (incl. Systems Engineering), planning and budgetary control.
CDM Process Training.
Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
BIM.
