Design Manager - Highways; 6mth plus Interim Role; c£400.0 plus per day ; Southampton

The Role:
Design Manager – Highways to manage all aspects of design for a Design and Build project on the M27. 
As Design Manager you will liaise with the contractor and manage all aspects of the design taking into account programme, lean, efficiencies, collaborative planning etc. You will initially be responsible for the First phase project which will involve working towards agreement of target cost followed by detailed design.

Duties will include:  
Design delivery to the contractor (and ultimate client of Highways England)
Managing Cost and programme of the design
Management of the multi- disciplinary design team
Delivery to client requirements
Knowledge of collaborative planning
Helping to deliver Highways England’s efficiency goals
Ensuring technical quality of all design deliverables

The Candidate: 
You will be degree/HND educated and be Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
You will have worked as a Design Manager/Senior Engineer and have experience of leading and managing a multi – disciplined design team engaged on highway projects. 
Your experience will include: 
Managing Cost and programme of the design
Management of the multi- disciplinary design teams
Knowledge of collaborative planning
