Excellent 6 month+ contract opportunity for a Drainage Design Engineer to work on developing highway improvement schemes from design to implementation based in East Sussex.

The Role:
Provide technical expertise to ensure that highway drainage scheme designs are prepared in accordance with current legislation, best practice, council policies and to the highest technical standards.
Ensure that schemes are prepared for assigned projects in accordance with current health and safety procedures and regulations.
Assume Principal Designer roles for assigned scheme as defined under the Construction (Design Management) Regulations, as appropriate.

The Candidate:
Registered Professional Engineer.
BSc Civil Engineering with Stormwater courses required.
Minimum 6 years’ experience providing heavy industrial civil sitework design.
Multiple years’ experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or InRoads, StormCAD, Civil Storm and other Bentley / Haestad programs is preferred.
Candidate must have significant AutoCAD skills / capabilities including working with multiple master files, attaching and manipulating xref files, working with multiple scales, and viewports.
Experience with underground utility design including preparing plan and profiles for roadways, railroads, water and sewer systems.
Emphasis in preparing grading plans, performing earthwork calculations, drainage / stormwater calculations, and preparing permit applications is required.
