Drainage Engineer – Manchester - £NEG – 6 months – Contract (Inside scope IR35)

The Role:
Our client WCL requires a Drainage Engineer to work on a full time contract basis in South Manchester for an initial period of 6 months.
Role/Duties:
Responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings, calculations, preparation of contract documents and specifications and supervision of contractors.
Liaison with other members of the design team to achieve a coordinated design solution.
Design of infrastructure including SUDS and drainage systems to adoptable standard.
Preparation of Drainage Impact Assessments and Flood Risk Assessments across all zones.
Liaison with statutory bodies.
Responsible for the resolution of planning conditions.
Updating client asset management data bases.
Undertaking site investigations of drainage/flooding issues including organising and interpreting CCTV surveys, dig downs, etc. and providing recommended solutions.
Organising/supervising planned and reactive maintenance drainage requirements for clients.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Drainage Engineer with at least 5-10 years' experience.
You will be qualified to at least HNC / HND or degree level.
You will have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
You will have experience working with Local Authorities, Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities, etc.
You will be computer literate.
