Electrical Designer - WFH / Rosyth - Duration 12 months - Rate c£27/hr umb

Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Babcock Naval Marine in order to a number of Electrical Designers to work on a 12 month rolling contract WFH / Rosyth.
As an Electrical Designer your duties and responsibilities will include:
Experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects;
Experience producing Installation Solutions (Alterations & Additions drawings for existing ships and submarines);
Experience preparing & producing 2D electrical marine drawing deliverables (single line diagrams / block diagrams / schematics / cable data sheets / termination drawings / material schedules);
Knowledge of power distribution systems / naval communication & weapon systems / Fibre Optic systems / 2D cable routing and containment iaw segregation rules;
Experience producing & updating ‘as-built’ / datum pack drawings and documentation for naval ships or submarines;
Awareness of Configuration Management;
Experience of ship Survey / Validation;
Good understanding of naval marine, engineering and design standards;
Awareness of marine Classification Regulations and Standards would be advantageous e.g. Lloyd’s;
Experience of working through a design lifecycle with a particular focus on detail design and design reviews;
Experience of detail design governance with a particular focus on output drawing check / approval process;
Knowledge of change control process when updating the revision of drawings / documentation;
Ability to liaise with colleagues & stakeholders to resolve issues during the design lifecycle;
Experience building HS&E requirements into design tasks.

Software experience:
AutoCAD 2D;
AutoCAD Vault;
Foran 3D experience would be advantageous;
Microsoft Office suite.

Candidate:

Experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects would be advantageous;
Experience preparing & producing 2D Production Output drawings from a 3D model (Cable Containment Installation drawings / Support Installation drawings / Material Schedules);
Experience creating 3D cable containment models (Ladder / Tray / Basket / Transits / Supports) would be advantageous;
Experience of detail design governance with a particular focus on output drawing check and approval process;
Experience interpreting electrical single line diagrams / block diagrams / schematics / cable schedules / termination drawings / material schedules;
Knowledge of power distribution systems / naval communication & weapon systems / Fibre Optic systems would be advantageous;
Understanding of the requirement of project policy documentation e.g. penetration policy / cable segregation policy / supports policy;
Good understanding of marine, engineering and design standards;
Experience of working through a design lifecycle with a particular focus on spatial integration reviews;
Knowledge of change control process when updating the revision of drawings / documentation;
Ability to liaise with colleagues & stakeholders to resolve issues during the Production Output phase;


Software experience:
AutoCAD 2D;
AutoCAD Vault;
CAD 3D shipbuilding software experience on Hexagon S3D / Foran / Tribon or other similar modelling packages;
Knowledge of CMPic would be advantageous;
Microsoft Office suite.
