Electrical Fitters / Technicians - Plymouth - Contract 6months+ Rate £18.62/hr

The role / duties

Our client Babcock Naval Marine and Wilde Recruitment are looking for a number of Electrical Fitters / Technicians to work at Devonport Plymouth initially for a period of upto 6 months on a contract basis.
Your duties may involve some / all of the following: 

(Marine)
Undertake the installation, repair, maintenance and manufacture of electrical systems as required on ships/submarine/land based systems in the marine defence and commercial industry. 
Read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time, cost and quality. 
Ability to overhaul and install a variety of electrical equipment in control, distribution and control systems covering areas such as weapons, navigation, sensors and communications systems. 
Installation and connection of cabling. 
Set to work by the use of test equipment. 
Carry out functional tests and surveys. 
Competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of electrical fitter. 
Cleaning up of own work arisings. 
Slinging duties as required. 
Any other task within the individual’s competence as directed by the company.

(Commercial & Industrial)
Expected to install, maintain and test electrical installations, domestic, commercial and industrial. 
Carry out responsive and preventative maintenance. 
Carry out EICR’s and all associated remedial works. 
Carry out fault finding. 
Experience working on and testing switchboards and power pillars. 
Ability to read technical drawings. 
Good knowledge of various test equipment. 
Knowledge of 3 phase systems is desirable. 

The Candidate:
You must be a British national due to site security.
You will be an experienced Electrical Fitter / Technician.
You will have at least 5-10years experience.
You should be qualified to at least C&G level
You will have 17th / 18th Edition experience.
