The Role:
An opportunity for a RICS-accredited Estates Surveyor to contribute to the development of Environment Agency policy and processes at a local and national level. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide guidance and mentorship to others within the wider estates team; particularly on policies, procedures and practices.

Duties and responsibilities will involve:
·Provide specialist guidance to operational teams in order to influence compliance with Agency, policy / legislation / best practice ways of working and contribute to the delivery of business plans. 
·Keep up to date on changing legislation / best practice externally, to inform internal priorities and appropriate alignment.
·Lead or participate in projects, providing functional / specialist input to improve ways of working and business change & efficiency. 
·Mentor and coach others on policies, procedures, practices and techniques equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver their work in an effective and efficient manner.

The Candidate: 
As an Estates Surveyor you will have experience of working in a professional estates service and able to demonstrate detailed knowledge in the following areas:

·Compensation negotiation and Acquisition of land and interest in land
·Valuation and Estates Management for a diverse property portfolio
·An understanding of planning, property and compensation legislation and procedures
and of compulsory purchase procedures
·Ability to provide advice on land and compensation matters to minimise project risk
and compensation liabilities
·Experience in managing a diverse land/property portfolio including property management, valuation and landlord and tenant issues to provide sustainable land use and deliver ‘best practice’ and national consistency external customers/stakeholders to maintain the Environment Agency reputation and effective resolution of issues.
