Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side DEFRA in order to recruit an Estates Surveyor to work on a 6 month contract.
As an Estates Surveyor your responsibilities and duties will include:
The Corporate Property Team carries out the core of the transactional surveying work for the Defra & EA Corporate portfolio’s including disposals, rent reviews, lettings, acquisitions, settlement of dilapidations and negotiations with landlords, tenants & Other Government Departments. Wider tasks include finance support - budget preparation, lease disclosures, NAO responses, provisions & IFRS 16 input & wider Departmental business – FMD input, ministerial briefings, responding to PQs, FoI’s and public enquiries. They are the professional backbone of the team providing professional oversight of contractors and offering advisory services to policy and operational area. This is a commissioning and supervisory role of external property and legal services providers and requires technical knowledge and capability to provide effective oversight.

The Senior Corporate Property Surveyor will be:

Supporting the Principal Corporate Property Surveyors
Managing a defined property portfolio, with a likely southern focus
Delivering property advice, guidance and transactions in support of the property strategy and good estate management.
Providing advice and professional support to the Defra Group businesses
Assisting in the provision of specialist advice, guidance and assurance in line with relevant legislation and best practice
Sharing technical expertise to improve knowledge, capability and competence
Collaborating and Partnering with colleagues across the Defra Group and other government bodies
Commissioning, supervising and delivering through external property advisors
Take full day to day estate management responsibilities for your allocated portfolio.
Provide property advice and recommendations
To deliver property transactions within your portfolio.

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Estates Surveyor.
HNC / HND / Degree.
5-10 years experience in similar roles.
