The Role:
Sought-after opening for a seasoned, chartered Estates / Property Surveyor to provide the full range of estates delivery for DEFRA sites in the North-East (Leeds and York). 

Duties will involve:

·Provide specialist guidance to operational teams in order to influence compliance with relevant policy / legislation / best practice ways of working and contribute to the delivery of business plans
·Keep up to date on changing legislation / best practice externally, to make recommendations for internal prioritisation and appropriate implementation in the business
·Support development of policies / process locally and monitor and advise on effective implementation in the business, in line with targets. Participate in projects, providing functional / specialist input to improve ways of working and business change & efficiency
·Build and sustain effective relationships with operational customers to understand issues and provide effective response / steer for operational needs
·Mentor and coach others on policies, procedures, practices and techniques equipping them with the knowledge and skills to deliver their work in an effective and efficient manner.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Chartered Estates / Property Surveyor having held RICS membership for at least 10 years.

Specific experience and attributes required;
·Portfolio management leadership abilities
·Supplier management and finance management relation to the portfolio
·Management of own portfolio
·Evidence of delivery of the full range of estates delivery to a Public Sector corporate occupier estate.
·Leadership of the small team delivering estate services.

In addition, you will also demonstrate the following;
Highly motivated and passionate about delivering projects to time, budget and quality
Organised and methodical with particular attention to detail
The ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure
Have a pragmatic approach and possess strong problem-solving techniques
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships at all levels with clients and employees alike and across all professional disciplines
Able to manage client expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
