The Role:

Our client, the Environment Agency (sponsored by DEFRA) supervises and works with other organisations to manage the risk of flooding and coastal erosion in England, and also directly manages flood risk from main rivers, the sea and reservoirs.
They require a Flood Risk and Coastal Management Officer to support delivery of low- and medium-risk projects, based at the Worthing office in Sussex.

Duties will involve:

Delivering work by planning, tracking, gathering, maintaining, providing quality assurance and analysing data/information.
Delivery of low- and medium-risk multi-disciplinary projects and/or activities to time, cost, quality constraints, ensuring successful outcomes are achieved.
Applying up to date, technically sound knowledge to make decisions and provide sound briefings and guidance.
Producing clear, concise and persuasive written material and briefing senior members of staff, peers and customers.

The Candidate: 

The successful candidate will have a relevant environmental sciences degree or higher, and will ideally possess at least 12-months post-graduate experience.
Contract management experience would be advantageous, particularly with flood modelling software (e.g. licence management). 
Additionally, experience of working with weather related products and/or working with the Met. Office would be advantageous.
