Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd is working work a local company in order to recruit a GIS Technician to work on a contract basis initially for 9 months+ based in Stockport.
As a GIS Technician / QGIS Officer your duties and responsibilities will include:
The post holder will assist with delivery of the highway asset maintenance work programme, the work is fast paced and is multi-disciplined. 
 
The general qualities we are looking for are as follows:
To assist with planning and project management a range of footway and carriageway maintenance schemes from patching to full reconstruction works.
Have a good knowledge of QGIS systems and be familiar with construction practices.
Check estimates and accuracy of accounts before payment.
Budget monitoring capabilities.
General Office duties.

System training and support will be provided where necessary. 

Candidate:
The Candidate: 
Must be proficient in QGIS GIS software, GIS data formats and coordinate systems.
Strong knowledge of spatial data and data management.
Proficient in the analysis / processing of GIS and Highway Asset data.
Good all round IT skills.
Excellent attention to detail & self-motivated.
