6 month contract for a Graduate Civil Engineer to work with Environment Agency related flood maintenance projects where you will be assessing potential repair works.

The Role:
You'll be working in the Asset Performance Team assisting experienced members of staff plan the routine maintenance programme.
The Asset Performance Team is responsible for ensuring that EA flood defence assets are appropriately managed, maintained and repaired/replaced when necessary. It will be a mixture of office and site work across the Bristol Avon river and its tributaries. Including part of the Severn Estuary.
Manage the obsolescence of components, and ensure that the solution is properly disposed of (or terminated) when appropriate.

The Candidate:
Educated to degree level or equivalent from an environmental or engineering background.
You should have a good all round knowledge of the Environment Agency business.
You'll need excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build rapport to influence a range of landowners, contractors, utility companies, councils other public bodies.
You'll also have good IT and organisational skills.
