The Role:

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary civil and structural engineering consultancy requires a Highways Design Engineer to support increasing growth within their Stockport office. You’ll progress highway and municipal schemes with the minimum of supervision.
You will be responsible for the review of design and design drawings, supervising scheme drawings, preparation of contract documents and specifications.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess the following;
Highways design experience using AutoCAD Civils 3D or Bentley MX
High level of CAD skills
Experience on Highway Authority schemes, e.g. junction improvements, pedestrian and cycle facilities
Experience with S38/S278 agreement works
Knowledge of design standards e.g. DMRB
Excellent teamwork ability
SU enquiries and consultations
Liaison with other specialist designers – lighting, traffic signals etc.
Preparation of construction issue drawings.
