Highways Design Team Leader: Excellent opportunity to work as a Team Leader on a permanent basis in Warrington

The Role:
Our client requires an experienced highways design engineer who is ready to take on a team leader role on a permanent basis in Warrington. You will lead the highways team in health and safety and zero harm, undertaking CDM responsibilities under the role of designer. You will agree briefs, programmes and budgets with the portfolio managers and ensure schemes are delivered to these requirements. You will manage the preparation of designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for their schemes. As Highways Team Leader you will prepare concept designs and take responsibility for delivering schemes to programme and budget.

Our client is working as part of a Joint Venture on Area 10 ASC which covers motorway and trunk route carriageway throughout Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and southern parts of Lancashire. They aim to ensure motorways and major ‘A’ roads are maintained to high standards, whilst delivering substantial savings to reduce the Highways England budget deficit.

The Candidate:
You will be a Highways Design Engineer with recent experience of leading design teams.
You must have significant experience in design and construction of highway schemes.
You will have Project Management skills and broad knowledge of CDM and other H&S legislation.
You must have a minimum HND/HNC qualification, preferably BSc/BEng/MEng qualified.
You will be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (ICE, IHT, IEng, and CEng).
You should be competent in exercising the designers’ obligations of CDM.
You should have knowledge of highways engineering design codes and specifications (DMRB/MCDHW).
