The Role:
Our client is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Highways Drainage Engineer with experience working within the drainage industry on public roads and highways.
You will aid the delivery of large and complex highways schemes and delivers smaller schemes as well as provide highway drainage and water quality advice for other schemes to deliver the outcomes agreed by the Network Board to the programmes and budgets agreed with the Programme Team.

The Candidate:
You will have a Degree, working towards Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer or equivalent qualification.
Micro-drainage excellence skills.
To prepare designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for highway drainage and water quality schemes.
To monitor the designs produced to ensure they meet the design briefs set by the Portfolio Manager.
Take a technical lead on the development of detailed drainage and water quality designs.
To ensure designs are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence.
To assist the Asset Manager in the preparation of studies.
Technical excellence in highways engineering (Drainage)
Good communications skills.
Ability to develop relationships and engender trust at all levels of the organisation and with Clients.
Report writing skills.
Experience - essential:
Demonstrable experience (preferably with some in HE area experience).
Detailed knowledge of Highways England drainage design requirements.
Detailed knowledge of design codes (DMRB / MCDHW etc).
Broad knowledge of CDM and other H & S legislation.
