The Role:
Our client, Balfour Beatty is working with Bedford Borough Council to introduce a series of measures designed to reduce congestion at a notorious traffic hotspot next to Bedford Hospital; Britannia Road in the centre of Bedford.
These works will widen the road which will create more space for traffic, whilst keeping space for pedestrians and create major changes to the road layout.
The layout of the main Hospital car park will be changed to improve traffic flow around the car park, and the exit onto Britannia Road will be closed. The layout of the drop-off layby near the Hospital entrance on Britannia Road is set to be altered, and some existing on-street parking removed from King’s Place. This will all help to improve traffic flow down Britannia Road.

Duties will involve:
A Site Engineer is required to conduct the following duties;
Setting out
Management of statistics
Management of supply chain and contractors
ITP / permit management

The Candidate: 
The candidate will have a full driver’s licence and CSCS card, as well as;
Recent and strong highways / roads experience
Experience in use of RD8000
AutoCAD BIM software
Experience of section 278 works.
