6 month contract for an ITS Maintenance Manager to work with Highways England on traffic management systems maintenance.

The Role:
To manage a prioritised programme of works, driving efficiencies in service delivery to improve financial and operational performance and minimise financial and reputational risks.
To be responsible for tasks related to the maintenance of a diverse range of innovative traffic technology solutions aligned to business need, used by Highways England to fulfil its traffic management role.
Solutions could include: Command and control, CCTV, Telecommunications, Traffic control and Highways electrical systems.
Manage resources, risk and contractual compliance effectively through project and service management techniques to drive value for money, control variances and support innovative solutions.

The Candidate:
Demonstrable understanding of or experience in or appropriate qualification in a relevant technical area: electrical/electronic engineering, telecommunications, traffic, computer systems or related technologies.
Experience of applying relevant technical expertise to innovative technologies to highways, to provide cost effective solutions for traffic management.
Commercial skills with the ability to engage effectively with professional, technical and other service delivery partners at all levels, and with different technical understanding.
Competent negotiator able to maximise delivery and achieve best value from supply chain.
Extensive project and portfolio management, preferably in a highway traffic technology maintenance discipline.
