Street Works and Permitting Manager: rate £neg; 3mth plus contract; Chatham, Kent
KEY Skills: Street Works, Permitting
Street Works and Permitting Manager to manage the co-ordination of Street Works and Permitting liaising with Statutory Undertakers, County Divisions and Agents, Emergency Services, etc.
Duties will include:
You will manage the coordination of Street Works and Permitting ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the National Conditions for Permit Schemes, Codes of Practice of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the network management requirements of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
Liaising with Statutory Undertakers, County Divisions and Agents, Emergency Services, etc
Manage the process to assess applications for and issue licences where appropriate for section 50 works.
Manage the use of, and operate the Street Works and Permits Register to manage the planning of works and events being organised on the highway.
You will be educated to HNC/Degree level in a relevant discipline and have experience of working in a traffic management / street works / Permitting capacity.
You will ideally hold a relevant professional membership e.g. CIHT / ICE and have a project Management Qualification.
In addition, you will have:
Experience of managing stakeholders
An in-depth knowledge of National Conditions for Permitting, Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004
Strong communications skills both written and verbal including persuading and influencing
Comprehensive IT skills
Able and willing to travel around and outside the county on business
