The Role: 
Lead Mechanical Handling Engineer to lead the design and project management of bespoke Mechanical baggage handling equipment to projects. 
You will be responsible for resolving specific handling requirements
You take full responsibility for the delivery of the technical scope of projects throughout the complete project lifecycle from initial concept design through to handover and completion. 
You will lead a team of skilled engineers and co-ordinate all multidisciplinary interfaces including attending client meetings and dealing with multiple stakeholders. 

The Candidate: 
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer; qualified to degree level/HNC and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering design office ideally working on Mechanical Handling projects.
You will ideally have knowledge of Airline/Handler baggage operational processes.
You will have experience of working with project teams with an understanding of the project management process.
You will have experience in leading teams of mechanical engineers. 
Experience of generating requirements from clients brief and decomposing into functional designs

Additional experience required:
A good background in the design to structural/mechanical elements
A working knowledge of Autodesk 3D Inventor
A thorough working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
Ability to produce high quality accurate engineering drawings 
Ability to perform basic stress and drive power calculations 
Experience of conveyor systems in manufacturing, process or mechanical handling environments Ability to perform accurate site surveys
