Key words / skills: Marine Engineer, Ships, Subs, Submarine, SC Cleared, Security Cleared, Propulsion, Power Generation, Design, Commercial Ship Design, Defence Standards.

Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Mechanical Eng (Marine) to work on a long term contract WFH / Rosyth.
As a Mechanical Eng your responsibilities and duties will include:
The PTME1 requirement within the NDP will be to conduct specific Marine Engineering Support Tasks to support successful JROC/SOC inputs for the platforms/projects as defined by the respective PL and agreed with the Principal Engineer (Marine Systems) (PE(MS)). Flexibility will be required as the definitive platform tasking list will be a developing requirement that may require reprioritising during the year. However the Tasks will be defined and agreed within Task Definition Documents (TDDs) drafted by PTME1 once the PL has identified the required task. The PL will manage the Platform Tasking and deliverable output required. Should there be a query on the ability to conduct a task the PE will address the issue with the PL to identify an appropriate solution.
Owing to the live nature of the programmes planned to be supported it is not expected that PTME1 will have significant periods without tasking. However, on a monthly basis, availability will be reviewed and if there is availability and a match with outstanding prioritised core tasking PTME1 may be required to deliver/support those deliverables as agreed and managed by PE(MS).

SQEP Description Senior Marine Engineer, Chartered Engineer*, with 5 or more years’ experience at that level

The requirement is for 8 months with an option for a further 12 months (215 working days) to be exercised if FY21/22 Tasks result in follow-on tasking in FY22/23. The option will only be taken if it is agreed that the incumbent is ideally suited based on performance to-date and agreement of both Tasking Authority and NDP – otherwise it will be re-competed as normal.

ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN
The post is required to develop and produce the necessary ME-related inputs to enable successful JROC and SOC submissions within the required delivery timescale.
PTME1 is to be prepared to switch tasks, as directed by the PL with little notice.
