The Role:
Experienced Mechanical Component CAD Technician / Designer required to join a team engaged on prestigious international maritime defence projects. 
Working within the mechanical design team you will be responsible for the preparation / production and upkeep of Datum Pack drawings and photographs in accordance with Defence Standards.
Duties will also include:
Upkeep and maintenance of the submarine ship fit equipment database.
Liaising with internal and external customers / stakeholders.
Site visits to submarines / ships to assess / verify design proposals – validating drawings or technical specifications.
Manage, control and maintain the QA live files for all classes of submarines.
Responsible for the allocation of fittings, pipes and bulkhead penetration numbers for A, T and V Class submarines and electrical cable and equipment numbers for A Class submarines. 

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced and qualified CAD Technician / Designer (components) with 5 years experience and be qualified to ONC / HNC level in a mechanical or production engineering.
Experience in AutoCAD is essential.
You will have experience of manufacturing drawings, bespoke machinery & mechanical systems.
Who will this suit?
This role is ideally suited to someone from 5 to 10 years experience producing mechanical drawings.
Industry specific experience is not essential but we would keen to hear from those who have worked within the naval, marine, ship building or offshore sectors.
The role is based in Plymouth and is offered on a fixed term contract basis with attractive remuneration (telephone to discuss).
The client offers flexible hours.
Note: Due to the nature of the projects undertaken these positions are restricted to UK nationals only. We are unable to consider applications from dual nationals.
Candidates must hold or be able to obtain Security Clearance.
NB the client is willing to sponsor suitable candidates for security clearance.
