Mechanical Designer / Engineer - £275/day (Umbrella) - Long term Contract - Warrington

The Role:
Our client STFC are looking to recruit a Mechanical Designer / Engineer to work on a contract basis based in Daresbury Warrington for a period of 6-12months. 
Your duties may include:
Design and optimisation of mechanical components.
Designing cost-effective solutions to help improve safety and reliability.
Designing (amongst other things) vacuum systems, mechanical mounting mechanisms, and lifting equipment.
Producing manufacturing drawings in accordance with the Projects and Mechanical Engineering group standards.
Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
Performing design calculations on engineering problems.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Mechanical Designer / Engineer with at least 5 + years experience.
You will be proficient with Creo or Pro/E CAD systems.
You will be qualified to at least HNC / HND Or Degree level.
You will have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
Experience working on particle accelerator systems.
Good working knowledge of ANSYS/Mechanica. 
Appreciation of COSHH systems. 
You will have experience of the following:
Working within BS EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System
Vacuum technology.
Heat transfer analysis and cooling solutions.
Mechanical design of optical systems.
Motion control systems.
Compressed air systems.
Pressurised systems. 
Magnet technology.
Survey and alignment techniques.
Working on low particulate systems.
