Mechanical Engineer - £37/hr - Contract - Leicester - 24months duration.

The Role:
Our client Babcock Airport Division is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer in Leicester for a period initially of 24months on a contract basis.

The role involves / your duties may include:
To proactively report unsafe conditions.
Identify all risks associated with the planned activities.
Liaise with all necessary interfaces (e.g. other project team members).
Provide accurate progress reports including estimates.
Oversee the generation of complex conveyor layouts (showing basic level of detail) at feasibility/concept design stage.
Oversee the preparation of phasing drawings.
Conveyor line arrangement drawings and parts list.
Maintenance plat forming, crossovers, lifting beams.
“Machine” level details and sub-assemblies in support of our ongoing development of standard baggage system products.
Oversee the preparation of phasing drawings.
Carry out site surveys.
Provide support during manufacturing, installation and commissioning phases.
Generation of technical specifications, reports and calculations.
Justification of key engineering decisions such as conveyor route option analysis and equipment selection analysis.
Conduct Design H&S risks assessments.
Advise on cost and programme impact and gain approval before initiating the variation.
Project close out, ensuring all “as built” drawings and test records are received from site.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with at least 5-10 years experience.
You should be qualified to at least HND / Degree level.
You will need excellent communication skills both written and oral.
