The Role
Our client requires a Mechanical Engineer who can exhibit a clear understanding of the importance of and the applicability of a nuclear safety culture.
Mechanical systems design/specification and performance assessment of nuclear equipment covering balance of plant scope, specifically cooling and service water systems.
Developing and working to engineering processes, including the various stages of systems design.
You will work work as a collaborative team, with the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC).Contractor, to create defendable strategies and options to underpin the DCO & EIA submissions.
You will take an active role in, criteria definition & weighting, brain-storming and option identification & down-selection techniques.
Challenge the engineering integrity, appropriateness and cost efficiency of proposals and strategies, by taking part in option study meetings and by reporting to line management.


The Candidate:
Experienced Mechanical Engineer working within the nuclear industry sector with emphasis on power generation plants.
You will be egree qualified or a Chartered Engineer with at least 5-10 years experience.
Mechanical Engineer with a focus on the balance of plant including cooling water systems and other nuclear related equipment (piping, cooling systems etc).
